Call your reps, then get on with your life. Be kind.
It’s understandable that current events can sometimes make us feel overwhelmed. As someone who has been through hell and back more than once, I am here to tell you this: “Call your elected representatives, then get on with your life.”
If you are obsessed with politics, go work for one. One of your elected representatives, that is. Or if you want to gain better perspective on the process, run for office. If you choose to do that, be sure to ask your family first, because it will involve a lot of cooperation and understanding. And once you decide, go all in.
As for that South Park episode, I just hope they hid the ketchup at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue…
Be love, practice forgiveness regularly and don’t take things personally, but if you find yourself in a place or surrounded by people who do not value your presence or your ideas, feel free to remove yourself.
